This online program is designed to assess the training needs of Dynamic Positioning System Operators (DPOs). Program objectives are: Improve operational safety, provide knowledge based refresher training, target any shore based refresher simulator training to the needs of operator personnel, and provide a tool to gauge competency of pre-hire DP Operator candidates.
The program is composed of a series of different exercises, each containing four (4) standardized Modules: General, System Equipment and Functions, DP Operations, and Human Factors (situational awareness & decision making). Exercises maintain a consistent format, contain 30 questions, and should take only 30-45 minutes to complete. Exercises are categorized based upon the GE/Converteam (DPS) or Kongsberg (K-Pos) Dynamic Positioning Systems, and are further categorized by operation type i.e. Drilling (Drill), Dive Support (Dive), ROV Support (ROV), Supply Vessel (OSV), Subsea Construction (Construct), and Pipe Laying (PipeLay).
Registration for these exercises are to be made by Corporate/Client management personnel only.
